Mihi mai ki a Kahutapeka Ututaonga

2022 Te Tatau o Te Arawa Election candidate

Mauri ora e te whānau,
Nō Te Arawa whānui ahau,

Ko Kahutapeka Ututaonga tōku ingoa.

I am currently a Case Manager/ Researcher at Te Kooti Whenua Māori o Rotorua; a māmā hapū with my second child; and I reside in Ōhinemutu pā. I have decided to stand again as a rangatahi  representative on Te Tatau o Te Arawa.

I believe I have achieved a lot for our local Te Arawa rangatahi over the past three years by supporting their engagement in numerous health, wellbeing, reo Māori and tikanga kaupapa such as Tuia, Paepae and Rangatahi wānanga.

This has helped me to grow as a person and rangatahi representative.

In 2019, I signed up to Te Tatau o Te Arawa not knowing anything. I approached it as a learning curve not only for myself but for the Te Arawa rangatahi I was representing.

This time, my goal is to be an even better voice and to put  into action all I’ve learned not only for our rangatahi but for my whānau, friends and all of Te Arawa.
