Pūtea Rotorua Reorua | Bilingual Rotorua Fund is now closed.

As a Tuakana reorua city, we received support from the Department of Internal Affairs’ Partnership Fund for reorua centres.

Te Tatau o Te Arawa offered a total of $20,000 over to years to May 2023 to support hapū, iwi community-led kaupapa reorua (bilingual events and activities) that help meet Rotorua Reorua goals.

The whāinga (goals) were to normalise te reo Māori, and have it seen, heard and celebrated alongside te reo Pākehā in different spaces and places in our city (and district).

As well as helping to meet Rotorua Reorua goals, the Rotorua Reorua Fund also aims to meet Te Arawa 2050 Vision aspirations, in particular, the Te Arawatanga whāinga that: our future has Te Arawa reo, tikanga and values woven into the every day of our people, our partners and the communities in our rohe.

We mihi to all our kaitono over the time that this pūtea was available.
