2022 Te Arawa Partnership Election

12 of the 14 Board representatives were elected unopposed while the remaining two rangatahi māngai were elected by tribal descendants

Key facts about the election process:

  • 16 candidates put their hand up for the 2022 election
  • 12 candidates were elected unopposed as the number of the candidates did not exceed the available board vacancies (Koeke (1), Iwi/ Hapū (6), Pan Te Arawa Entities (1) and (2) Ngāti Whakaue) 
  • 13,393 voting packs were distributed to Te Arawa desendants for the 2022 rangatahi election 
  • Te Arawa uri had the option of casting their votes online or by post
